It’s finally here. The untethered jailbreak method of Greenpois0n – the Greenpois0n RC5 is now available for download for Mac OS X and Windows users. The Chronic Dev Team has released GreenPois0n for iOS 4.2.1 to offer untethered jailbreak for the users of iPad, as well as other iOS devices, such as the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and iPod Touch 2G. You can also jailbreak your iPad using PwnageTool, Redsn0w, and Sn0wbreeze. So if you want to jailbreak you beloved, then just simply follow the step by step guide on how to jailbreak iPad 4.2.1:
Note: We are using Greenpois0n RC5 for Windows on this tutorial
How to Jailbreak iPad Using Greenpois0n RC5 for Windows
Step 1: Download Greeenpois0n RC5 for Mac OS X or Windows and save it on your desktop (Greenpis0n download links posted below)
Step 2: Extract the downloaded zip file and then double click greenpois0n to launch the application.
Step 3: Then connect your iPad into the computer via USB cable and turn it off
Step 4: Then followed by clicking on the “Prepare to Jailbreak (DFU)” button
Step 5: Now the iPad jailbreak tool will prompt you to put your iPad into DFU mode; the application will take you through the necessary steps
- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for 2 seconds
- Keep holding the Sleep/Wake button and also simultaneously also press and hold the Home button for 15 seconds
- Then release the Sleep/Wake button but continue holding the Home button for 15 seconds
Step 6: Once you have successfully put your iPad in DFU mode, you should see Ready to Jailbreak, now click on the Jailbreak button
Step 7: Greenpois0n will start jailbreaking your iPad on iOS 4.2.1
Step 8: Once the jailbreak process completed, you should see the Quit button, just simply click on the Quit button to close the application
Step 9: The jailbreak will automatically reboot your iPad; once rebooted, you’ll notice that there is a new loader application on your iPad’s home screen
Step 10: Just simply tap on the Loader to launch it then select Cydia and then tap on Install Cydia button
Step 11: Once you have successfully installed Cydia, you can now uninstall the Loader application as it is no longer needed; just tap on Options button and then tap on Remove Loader.app button to uninstall it
That’s it! You have successfully iPad is successfully jailbroken and you should see Cydia on springboard of your jailbroken iPad. Just reboot your jailbroken iPad and launch Cydia to download and install awesome jailbreak apps on your device.
